Had my VSG yesterday. Came home today. No nausea, no pain (of course that may pop up) lol

Now on to the Stage one for 14 days. - broth, and Premiere Protein Shakes, SF 1 popsicle . 1 SF Jello.

How do I get the runner on my ticker to move?

You might also look into Protein waters. Gatorade makes one, as do other companies that don't have the electrolytes in them. There are a lot of folks on here that complain about not being able to hit their Water or protein goals early on, so I'm hopeful these will help me better hit both, since it's double-duty.
Yes I forgot about those but I actually ordered some the other day, along with the Soups and some unflavored protine powder "Isopure Unflavored whey isolate Protein Powder" it's the one that was recommended the most to me for adding into other things such as soups , other drinks, broths, pudding ect .... but I was told of its going into a cold like pudding or something dissolve it into a few oz of warm water first to keep from getting a giddy texture or add it in when making pudding :)

If you are anxious the day of surgery they should be able to give you something to calm you down when you get there. I actually didn’t need it but thought I might so I asked about it.

I will definitely ask

You may not need to bring your medications. I had to bring two of mine because they didn’t have them in their stock but they typically tell you to leave your medications at home and make you use theirs. Very cute pill reminder though.

This is what I'm worried about. I'm trying to stay active now to help with recovery, but if I have no energy, it's going to be harder. I start the pre-op diet Tuesday.

Post surgery all I did was walk around for a couple weeks. I am patient and didn’t want to risk forgetting and doing something to hurt myself. If you do more than that just be very mindful of the lifting restrictions (for me I know myself and I will forget and do it).

How do you not lift things? I have a 1.5 year old who's 22 pounds. She goes to daycare during the day but at night and on weekends I have to lift her up sometimes to put her in her crib or put her in the car or change diapers or bathe. Like how do I just stop doing that??

Do you have anyone that can help you for a few weeks? My doctor's office said they don't even want us bending over to do things like load/unload the dishwasher or do laundry.

That’s a tough one. You really shouldn’t be doing it though. Is there anyone who can help you?? It’s been a while but I think I was restricted to not lift anything over ten pounds for two weeks. I worry that you could really hurt yourself by lifting her.

Girl I understand m! I am a single mom sometimes you just have to do what you have to do and pray for the best! Luckily mine are grown now but I had surgeries when they were younger and it was definitely a challenge!

I have my fiance and my mom who lives with me. I'm sure they will help alot. But they will have to work at too some nights and I'll be alone with her. 2 weeks? Maybe I can have my mother in law come stay with me?? I didn't even think about this until yall said something. I'm so used to my baby being petite I forget she's a whole turkey now [emoji1787]

A whole Turkey, lol. Yea if you have someone who is willing to do it that’s definitely the best idea. You will have lots of sutures and staples in there that could get pulled if you lift her and cause a lot of issues. If you do injure yourself you would most likely be needing help for a lot longer than if you are just cautious the first time around.

If you're on a PC, click on your name at the top, then "My Surgery":

Good luck tomorrow! I looked at that pill organizer but I needed one that had 4 spaces and I wanted a month. That one looked awesome though. Update us when you can. I wish you an easy surgery and recovery!

I bought the same organizer! Might as well be cute if we have to have a strict Vitamin regimen

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
