~Sheila~ 0 Posted December 16, 2007 Just curious to see what your Dr's have said regarding post op liquids and how long you're to be on them. Im to be on liquids, basically Clear Liquids PLUS tomoto Soup, including Jello, popsicles, crystal light, broth, diluted juice...ect... for a total of 4 weeks. Just wondering what your dr's have said.....
jc2008 0 Posted December 16, 2007 I am only on clear liquids for at most the first week. I think at 7 days i start to add in oatmeal consistancy (so xmas day i can have oatmeal! heh).. 4 days after i can start to do nonfat yogurt.. I know that being on a liquid diet can make you drop a lot of weight quickly (heh it was my #1 choice to lose weight before and i could drop 30-40lbs in a month using complete liquid diet), so maybe a lot of doctors like to keep patients on liquid diets for the big weight loss boost to get them motivated and more quickly able to be active again.. Also you are to consume 24 oz of other liquids in the day - Water, juice, etc. next 21 days - mushy food diet. 3 meals a day, no snacking. oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, eggs, moist chicken or turkey, well cooked vegetables & cream Soups, cottage cheese, yogurt, tuna, etc. After this you resume a full diet as toletated.. My first fill is scheduled for January 14, 2008... I am telling you I can't wait for mushy food. I am so sick of Protein Shakes I could vomit! They taste good & all, I am just sick of them.. I like a little variety.
