So far so good. Surgery August 3rd. What day do you typically hit a wall? because I feel like I know it's coming. 😂

Thanks MikeC19 for the post. I start my pre-op diet on August 15th and super nervous! Mine is two full weeks! What does your diet look like?

The first 3 days were the hardest for me. Especially days 2 and 3. By day 4 I was starting to get used to it and by day 5 I didn't even really notice it.

I found it hardest when I wasn’t using my allowed calories(my stomach felt like it was going to eat itself 🤣).

My doctor said no more than 1200 calories, so I decided to use them. I stick to the general Breakfast, lunch, and dinner schedule. When I get moderately hungry I’ll have a Protein Shake. So far I haven’t gone over 1100 calories.

There are lots of different pre surgery diets. Mine was 2 weeks Keto. But generally they’re either two shakes & one meal or three shakes only. With these the first week (or there abouts) seems to be the most difficult. You’re breaking lots of habits, cravings & addictions (caffeine, sugar). Plus if food was a comfort for you this is also ‘taken away’ from you so it can be more challenging because of the emotional/psychological roller coaster.

It’s all so very worth it though.

Day 1-3 were the worst for me. By day 4 I found a routine that worked and my body settled in. I had a very strict 2 week liquids only, which was ROUGH, but I survived and was really proud of myself for being compliant. Agree with others - use the calories you're given! Don't skimp. It'll be over before you know it!

Mine is super strict as well!!!! but I am required 16 oz orange juice daily. 8oz in the morning and 8oz in the afternoon. Possibly to break the weakness of not having any sugar intake.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
