I am a little over 3 years post op now. The past year I put no effort in to maintain or monitor and only this week got back on the scale for the first time and the results are what you would expect. I gained back 40lbs. The biggest difference in year 2 vs year 3 is the return of hunger. The sleeve prevents me from overeating at meals but it will not stop grazing and if you eat calorie dense highly processed foods you will not get restriction. This is a frustrating setback and I have no one to blame but myself.

The honeymoon doesnt last forever and when it does wear off you will have a battle if you did not form good habits.

Learn from it and you can get back to where you want to me.

You already took responsibility for it so you know you can fix it.

I am rooting for you! Good luck.

I use Noom to help me get back on track. Your tool still works, you will have to do the work too. You CAN do it! It’s mostly being mindful and logging food.< /p>

Thank you for this. What are you doing to get back on track?

thanks for the encouragement. My post op weight loss experience was too easy. The weight fell off and I had no interest in food for around a year. My plan to get back on track is to cut out the last things I reintroduced. I fully expect it to be much more difficult this time from the physical aspect but I dont have the same mental attachment to food that I did so the mental side should be easy.

I hear you and I have also gained weight this year. I will be 4 years post-op from my sleeve in Dec. I have gained about 25 lbs and I am working on losing it. My stomach still has portion resistance, however I now have the hunger pains and want to graze. I am doing Water when that occurs and have upped my Protein and am eliminating all the processed foods and junk that has creeped into my life.

I'm a bit shy of 6 years out, with my lowest weight being 2 years after surgery. I've gotten pretty lax about eating right if I'm being honest so there's been regain for sure, but it fluctuates between +10 and +30lbs and has never come close to my max weight. Usually when I sense I'm slipping too far, I just try to keep more aware of what/how much I'm eating, weigh in more. I definitely don't have the same kind of limited stomach capacity as I did years ago, but I still don't get hungry the same way and it feels like the weight comes off easier than pre-surgery. All in all, I still consider the surgery to be the best decision I've ever made for myself.

You already said your restriction is still there. That’s all you need to get back on track. You’ve got this.

I did manage to lose 7lbs the first week and I didnt do anything drastic. For me the key to it all is sustainability. I am contemplating going back on the Unjury Protein Shakes to atleast have on hand. I really liked them and they were effective Meal Replacements.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
