lavette43 75 Posted July 13, 2022 How long does it take to get approved. After the Dr. has sent it to insurance company. Sent from my SM-G991U using BariatricPal mobile app
lizonaplane 1,613 Posted July 13, 2022 That depends a lot on your insurance company and the surgery center. It could be a few days or a few weeks, or they may come back with more things you have to do/information you need to provide them with. You can check in with the insurance coordinator at your surgery center. They should be able to tell you what to expect. Good Luck! 1 lavette43 reacted to this
kcuster83 1,504 Posted July 13, 2022 Lots of variables, unfortunately. Mine took about a week. 1 lavette43 reacted to this
ShoppGirl 5,009 Posted July 13, 2022 I believe the insurance company has 30 days to respond. Don’t quote me on it but I heard that somewhere.
KevinS62 73 Posted July 13, 2022 Like @ShoppGirl said, I was also told the insurance companies have 30 days to respond. In my case, I have BCBS and it took 12 days from my last visit at the surgeon's office to get the call that I was approved. After turning in some consent forms and a co-pay, I was called the following day to schedule the surgery. 2 lavette43 and KK711 reacted to this
SleeveToBypass2023 2,650 Posted July 13, 2022 I was told 30 days, but I have BCBS and mine was approved in 48 hours. But it varies by insurance companies and if they have anything additional they decide they need. 2 KK711 and lavette43 reacted to this
