lizonaplane 1,613 Posted June 14, 2022 I'm 9 months out and I haven't felt like I've had more energy than before surgery until this week. I feel restless if I don't get enough exercise, and I want to work out twice a day. I'm trying to be careful and vary the exercise from day to day so I don't get injured, and I still have a tendency to inertia, but it's definitely a huge change. I notice since I'm losing weight my Apple Watch tells me I'm burning fewer calories for the same amount of exercise 😪 I know that's to be expected, but it's getting harder and harder to get to 500 calories burned in a day. Do you get hungry from exercise? I only find I am hungrier after swimming. 3 GreenTealael, dig that at and LookingForward22 reacted to this
Queen ApisM 427 Posted June 14, 2022 I have been on an exercise streak the past 6 weeks. My routine is off the week because of guests and I am so antsy to get a work out in. I have no good advice, but just validating your experience because I am going through the same thing. I do get a bit hungrier with exercise, but not too terribly. 1 lizonaplane reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted June 14, 2022 yes - I think it's pretty common to get hungrier when you exercise. Your body wants those calories back that it burned off!

So here is what I notice: if i run in the morning, i am STARVING (for me, which is probably just regular hungry for everyone else, lol) when i get back. BUT i think this has a lot to do with the fact i dont eat in the mornings. Yet even noticing this correlation, i still won’t eat before an AM run cuz I prefer to run on an empty stomach as otherwise i find i run slower and want to quit sooner. 🤷🏻♀️ On (very) rare occasions i may give in the the “starving”-after-AM-run feelings, but mostly i don’t, because i know what eating so early in the day does to me (i get tired, feel bloated, end up eating more by EOD, etc). On the other side of things, when i run later in the day or evening, it has no effect 🤷🏻♀️ Edited June 15, 2022 by ms.sss 1 lizonaplane reacted to this

I have iced coffee with a lot of milk and that seem to be enough most days. I wouldn't want to swim on a full stomach. I know that thing about getting a cramp and drowning is BS, but I don't think it would be comfortable. I swim as soon as I get up in the morning normally, except on vacation, but then I'm eating more anyway.
blackcatsandbaddecisions 852 Posted July 29, 2022 I run and do my spin classes in the middle of the day, before lunch. So I go home from work, (live super close), get changed and run for 20 minutes then do a spin class for 20 minutes. I have a latte and coffee prior to my workout, have my Protein Shake and cheese afterwards. For me I am always hungry in the evenings, the morning and afternoon are kind of a non event for me. I usually take one rest day from exercise a week, I don’t normally Notice a change in hunger levels that day. 1 lizonaplane reacted to this

Debbirie 1 Posted October 28, 2022 Everything is always different for me. Often I want to eat before playing sports, I'm starving. This goes on for about half an hour and I need to drink a lot of Water and eat a Protein Bar. My workout can last from an hour to two, depending on how much strength I have. Also, in addition to regular training, I like to ride this bike, which consumes a lot of calories, and I want to eat. In such cases, I stop and drink plenty of water, it helps to get home.
