Has your surgeon given you the go ahead to do exercise already? If not, better give it a miss until they have done so.

If you feel you need to do some movement some light walking would be be the best at 6 days post op.

Yikes! I wasn't cleared for surgery for at least a month, possibly two. 6 days is WAY too soon to do anything other than just walking.

I wasn't allowed to do anything except walk until I was one month out.

No I wasn't cleared either but I thought (dumb move) that an elliptical was just walking in place, not so much.

Elliptical involves a lot of pressing/bearing down on the core, I don't think that would impact on incision sites, but would probably impact on the stomach muscles. The very same stomach muscles which have been impacted by the surgery.
