Happy Stylist 86 Posted May 27, 2022 Ok. I had my 4 week check up (via phone call). I told my surgeon that I didn't feel like my weight loss was going good. He agreed that it's not as good as it should be. After talking with him. I realize I'm not getting in my Protein. I've been so focused on eating 4oz of protein. I wasn't thinking of getting 60g of protein a day 🤦♀️ What do y'all eat to get the full amount in? The shakes are making me nauseous now. I'm still on soft foods. So stuff like 2 eggs only give me 12g of protein. 4oz Refried Beans only give me 6g. Im not sure how to get the protein in with out over eating. This is so confusing to me. Im a picky eater so this makes it even harder for me.

I figure it's an investment until I can eat more food. 5 I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡, Tripletsmom1971, Dschmitty and 2 others reacted to this

Minced meats are a good option cause they cook up soft & are easy to eat (well I found them very easy). 4ozs beef, pork, chicken, etc. mince will provide about 25-30g of protein. Throw in your favourite herbs & spices, sauces or gravies to keep it moist. You can also add some vegetables (cook it all up slowly so they’re very soft) but this will lower the protein content so be careful. Soft flaked fish will also provide about 25g. Find a good high protein yoghurt too.

DaisyAndSunshine 303 Posted May 27, 2022 (edited) Skyr, a type of yogurt, this has been my go to Protein food item and has been for the last 6 months being vegetarian and all. I don't consume protein powders or shakes and get most of my protein from Skyr and other vegetarian food groups. FarfelDiego 120 Posted May 27, 2022 I like the unflavored Isopure Protein powder that can be mixed to make Protein Jello or pudding. I can’t take more than one shake a day. I do Greek Yogurt too. There’s one called Two Good that’s ok. 3 1 Therese22, I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡, Cara_luvnlite and 1 other reacted to this

I didn't like it and I'm still pre op, so I can't imagine liking it post op. How much protein powder do you add to a box of jello? Maybe I added too much... It's not something I love because I'm don't like fish. (Very picky eater) I'm sad that you can't have pork. It's the meat that agrees with me best - pork tenderloin (not overcooked) is the best for my tummy post surgery. Fish hasn't been well tolerated as I would have expected. My suggestions: Greek yogurt (or other high Protein yogurt) and Bone Broth. Those were crucial for me when I was in that stage of recovery. 2 Happy Stylist and learn2cook reacted to this
Splenda 257 Posted May 27, 2022 If you have any Protein powders on hand, consider mixing them into Greek yogurt. Also, Sams Club sells the Protein2o waters, which have 15g protein per bottle (taste is roughly similar to a Vitamin Water Zero).

Anyway, I make pudding with it, drinks even eat Cereal sometimes. Also, my surgeon has always said eat 4 or 5 times per day to lose. This helps me and you don't have to add protein powder. I tried a shake again this morning and again it made me nauseous. So, I'm going to try the protein powder in my yogurt. 1 1 Splenda reacted to this
