Not tolerating intake well

Recommended Posts

I am now post-op day 3.

I am having issues with cramping nausea, and heart burn after sipping Clear Liquids. I am taking Pepcid twice a day and Zofran too. How do you manage these symptoms, so you can continue to drink?

I'm dying here....

Thank you.

Call your surgeon, before you end up in the ER dehydrated.

Ok. I have an appt for Tues. This a.m. I took Milk of Mag and it helped some. I drank about 4 Oz with minimal issue and walked to helped.

Good, I hope they can help you find relief.

If you start to see signs of dehydration before Tuesday (that’s quite a while) contact your surgeons office and they should be able to arrange for you to get fluids somewhere as an out patient rather then waiting till you end up in the ER.
Edited to add I just read after posting that you are doing a little better. I will leave my original post for other people searching for answers but glad to hear you are doing better.

Try warmer drinks. My stomach would not tolerate cold drinks and cramped in shock . I needed anti nausea medication to get on the top of things. Take care of yourself
