Arabesque 7,426 Posted May 21, 2022 Yeah, a few of us suffer from episodes of dry mouth. Besides being a random menopausal symptom I think it also happens because we don’t have fat around our necks which used to help keep our mouths closed at night & we are likely sleeping differently (head position) & our lax muscles cause our mouths to droop open. Well that’s a bit of a theory I have. I have Water beside my bed too (I drink through out the night) but others have found success with Biotene which is a spray that moisturises the mouth. catwoman7 11,220 Posted May 21, 2022 some drugs will do that, too - like PPI's. I now use a dry mouth toothpaste and have things like dry mouth lozenges, sprays, and gels nearby all the time.
Tufflaw 465 Posted May 22, 2022 I used to drink a decent amount of Water but after the surgery I really can't stand it. Or at least not in large quantities. I was drinking Crystal Light lemonade which was pretty good but still tough to get down a lot of. Then I went on vacation out of state and found this stuff called Milo's Sweet Tea (zero calorie), it tastes amazing and I couldn't get enough of it. Unfortunately when I got home I discovered that they don't sell it near me. So I tried Crystal Light Sweet Tea and I think it tastes even better. I have 2-3 large glasses per day of that and could probably get more down if I wanted, but that plus the Protein Drink I have every morning gets me to over 64 oz per day.
