Idk what to do to take away the discomfort I currently have ice on my upper abdomen and it feels a little better but does anyone have any suggestions? Arabesque 7,416 Posted May 21, 2022 (edited) Check with your surgeon first but also try avoiding lactose. Lactose & certain artificial sweeteners can cause bloating & cramping. Dave In Houston 199 Posted May 21, 2022 You might try some simethicone. The trade name is Gas-X. That's why the surgeon's medical assistant recommended to me 3 weeks or so of my gastric bypass.
