Hang in there!

I'm trying. Who knew the worst part of the surgery was the stall??? Not the liquid diet, not the pain, not the recovery, not the learning how to eat. The STALL!!!!! lol

I don't really live anywhere that I can go walking outside (I live right in downtown, and if you know anything about downtown Denver right now, you know you can't go walking there) so I use my apartment complex's gym. I want to add inclines to the treadmill but my surgeon said no until I hit 6 weeks post op. I can't lift any weights (I only do 3 and 5 pound weights) until then, too. And no running or jogging until then. So I'm kinda stuck at just speed walking on the treadmill and riding the exercise bike. If that means I'm gonna be in this stall another 2 weeks, I might very well lose my mind lol But I'm happy you finally broke the stall!!! How much did you lose when you saw the stall broke?

272 to 270.4, I’ll take it!

PS I LOVE downtown Denver! But I agree, not walk friendly!

Especially now. Crime has gone up, it's become a tent city, there's trash everywhere, and panhandlers on every corner. So....apartment gym it is...

I'm now on day 12 of this stupid stall. I'm just so over it. This really is the pits.

Yeah, everyone defines a stall differently.

Personally I use at least “1 week of consecutive days of non-weight-nor-inches loss” as a definition.

It's day 12, and it feels like there's no end in sight. Who knew this would be the worst part of the surgery???

It won’t let me quote the video link but that was very helpful! I think my stall broke more because I changed a few things in my day to day but this is encouraging that it will break regardless!

Thank you!!! Just what I needed. I know in my brain that it'll pass, but MAN, when you're in it (especially for the first time) it's hard to remember that.

What a great video. Thank you for sharing it @acopas.

Watching it reminded me to ask if you take body measurements @SleeveDiva2022? Some people notice their physical measurements decrease while in a stall even though the scale doesn’t change.

No, I don't have any kind of tape measure, and I never did any "before" measurements.

Take lots of pictures from the same angle in the same outfit. You'll notice a difference regardless of the number.

I’d go ahead and get a measuring tape if I were you. Yes clothes fit different but with there being no standard sizing, I don’t trust that. Pictures are great too but sometimes I struggle to see the difference there as well.

I didnt either but started to record measurements around the 4 month mark and I have noticed reducing numbers on the tape measure but not so much on the scales so it has been good to see that. Tape measures are cheap I encourage you to get one.

Yeah I'm going to head out tomorrow and get one (it's Memorial Day here and I don't want to deal with crowds at Walmart and Target with people getting last minute stuff for parties and BBQs).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
