Ruby Dean 0 Posted May 19, 2022 Getting ready for my 1st weigh in and I'm under a couple lbs from a bmi of 40.I'm just curious if this can disqualify me or will they work with me.
liveaboard15 1,293 Posted May 19, 2022 We cant tell you that. Every program and insurance have their own requirements. So you need to check to see what yours is. BUt very doubtful. Wear a weight belt when they weigh you lol 1 2 Jeanniebug, Ruby Dean and Making_changes reacted to this

Making_changes 14 Posted May 19, 2022 Also when they check your height, do it without shoes. 1 Ruby Dean reacted to this
Tufflaw 465 Posted May 20, 2022 I've often seen that to qualify you have to have a BMI of at least 40 OR a BMI of at least 35 with at least one comorbidity (Ie: sleep Apnea, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.) It depends on your insurance requirements. 1 Ruby Dean reacted to this

I told her God would have to intervene for that to happen, But if it did come close, I'd be sure to have a few rocks in my pocket on weigh-in day. 1 1 summerseeker and Jeanniebug reacted to this
Jeanniebug 473 Posted May 27, 2022 My insurance will cover the surgery, with a starting BMI of 35, with comorbidities - or starting BMI of 40, with no comorbidities. They don't care how much weight I lose between now and surgery day, they go off of my starting weight. You should be able to find the information that you're looking for, in the insurance company documentation.
ShoppGirl 5,003 Posted May 27, 2022 Did you do your weigh in and meet with the team yet? I’m curious about how this one went. I’m hoping that like many of us you haven’t measured your height in years and you are shorter than you think so your bmi is actually above 40. 1 riverlady241 reacted to this
summerseeker 2,236 Posted May 27, 2022 Keep lots of money in your pockets, wear some really heavy chunky jewellery and wear thin socks so that you are shorter when you take your shoes off to be measured. Good luck 1 riverlady241 reacted to this
