I feel like my appetite is getting bigger and my weight loss is slowing down. I gained 3 pounds I’m scared. After a 100 pound weight loss I’m nervous had this happened to anyone. Can anyone guide me?

Can you update your information so we can see your stats? When did you have your surgery? What surgery did you have? Maybe you're in a stall??? How often do you weigh yourself?

I weight about once a week. Haven’t lost more than 10 pounds in 3 mon. I’m at 10 months. I had gastric bypass. I feel like it was falling off now it’s not. I am close to normal bmi but why am I gaining. I know I’m able to eat more than I was but I’m nervous

Not sure how far along you so it’s helpful to complete your stats in your profile as @SleeveDiva2022 suggested.

There are certain things you can depend upon though. The closer you are to goal the slower your rate of loss. The heady days of larger rates of loss don’t last. Your real hunger returns. Everybody’s weight fluctuates & it doesn’t mean you’ve gained.

My last kilos were a b*tch to lose. Felt like forever. I just stayed my course & they went (plus more). My hunger started to return in my second year but hunger returning from around 6 months is not common. I have a natural weight fluctuation of about a kg - 2.2lbs. Could be Water, Constipation, life in general.

I am at the 10 month mark too, I haven't lost anything for 3 months. I find myself being able to eat " normal" serving sizes. Sometimes it's a bit less sometimes a bit more. But I must admit snacking has crept back in and it's something I really need to get control of.

the closer you are to a normal BMI, the slower and harder it is to lose. The last 20 lbs were a BEAR to lose for me - we're talking like 2-3 lbs a month.

it isn't just us - I remember very clearly going to Weight Watchers meetings before I had surgery. I'd overhear these barely overweight women b*tching and moaning about how hard it was to lose 10 lbs, and I just wanted to roll my eyes. Yea - try losing 200 lbs! But now I totally get it...

The snacking has been creeping up too much on me lately as well, chocolate and candies :(

The problem is I am 5 month post OP and lost 55 kilos = 122 pounds, So i feel like im doing great. My goal weigh tis still another 18 kilos away so I need to be careful. For me i need to stay way from smoking week. I smoke 1-2 tiInsert other media mes a week after a long day of work or or on the weekend, and I get the muchies, not a good combo :)

The snacking is hitting me too. I’m trying to do healthy Snacks but it’s so easy to get out of control. I wish I was only to take 3 bites still.

Wow 55kg that's awesome !!!! Just be mindful of how much you eat like yes have a piece chocolates but not the whole block. I am having to stop myself from eat a packet of chips tonight been out all day didn't eat or drink much now I am starving . Eating slider food while waiting for dinner to cook another bad habit I need to break, picking while cooking

yes missing meals and letting yourself get too hungry is bad. So before I go out, I always bring a high Protein yogurt and cut up veggies or tuna and crackers and eat on the go. Which also eating on the go after surgery is never a good idea! I hope you just hit a stall and keep loosing until you reach you goal weight!!! :)

I have found—and this sounds so stupid, but it's true—that when I get the 'munchies', if I eat a pickle (garlic Kosher type), it absolutely satisfies me and instantly kills off my need to snack. It's the salty acidic thing, I think. olives do it too, but they're much higher in fat.

interesting, since I love olives, I just started eating them again. I like kosher foods ;) . It makes sense that the salty acidiness kills the other cravings. Its like the opposite effect of candy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
