Big Fred 0 Posted December 14, 2007 I was banded on 10-25-07 and todate have had no complications except for yesterday. I went to bed and when I layed my head on the pillow the whole room began to spin, it only lasted a second or two. This was a wierd feeling, the next day I was fine. So far this has only happened the one time but I'm concerned that it may happen again. I was curious - did anyone here ever have anything like this?? I have a Protein Shake in the morning, take my Vitamins and watch what I eat. I have lost 30lbs since the banding and feel great otherwise. Just looking for answers.... 03-24-07 - 374lbs - started journey 10-25-07 - 349lbs - surgery date 12-05-07 - 319lbs - first fill (3cc's in a 10cc band)
Daisalana 33 Posted December 14, 2007 Are you getting enough Water? It could be dehydration. If I don't eat all day I sometimes get light headed also.
YorkieMama 0 Posted December 14, 2007 Any chance you are on blood pressure meds? I had this same thing happen to me after several months, particularly when bending over or standing up quickly. It turned out that my blood pressure had gone down and I needed to lower my dosage of the BP meds. There is a thread on here somewhere that talks about it, but I don't remember where I saw it. You've done a great job so far - keep up the good work! Sheri
delo 1 Posted December 14, 2007 yes, this is vertigo. It may come back or may not, there is nothing to do for it. sometimes it happens when you look up and put your head in a compromising position. It happened to me, one day I woke up in a headspin. everything was spinning so fast that I was concerned, next I knew I had to throw up. I was not banded at that time. It still happens occasionally now, but if you move your head just right, it will go away. It is just the hair in your ears that doesn't keep up with your head movements. hope this helps
Big Fred 0 Posted December 14, 2007 lauraj23 - I usually drink 3-4 16oz bottles of Water a day plus coffee or tea.= 0- hopefully that's enough. YorkieMama - you know I didn't think of the meds - yes, I am on blood pressure meds. I was taking two pills, the Dr. already took me off one. Perhaps I need the second dose lowered?? Thanks everyone - I see the Dr. next week, I'll make sure he checks my medication.

Big Fred 0 Posted December 21, 2007 Update: I went to my doctor yesterday, it is the bloodpressure medication that is causing the problems. I can't believe that my pressure is down so low. The Dr. cut my medication in half, he said that it will take about a week for the meds in my system to stabilize. Good to know that the vertigo is not going to stay with me, for those people that have vertigo - my prayers go out to you. Isn't this band amazing, our bodies are changing constantly.
