Ooh yea many people mention this on here. My stomach starts the second I start eating and doesn’t stop for at least an hour afterwards. It’s funny cause at over a year out I don’t notice it anymore until someone on here mentions it.

Mine still does almost three years out. Like on & off all day long. When I eat. After I eat. When I drink. It will rumble & moan at night when I rest my iPad on my abdomen. Sometimes it rumbles more after dairy (with or without lactose). I have even had to apologise for the noise. My young nieces & nephews think it’s hilarious too. After surgery it’s likely from the acid in your empty stomach. After it’s just your digestive system working properly. Rarely is related to hunger as most people presume.

YES!!!!! OMG it's annoying and when it gets loud, it's embarrassing lol I just tell it to pipe down, that it already ate (I take a few sips and then say it). Doesn't really help, but it makes me feel better lol

3.5 years out for me; and my stomach, like @Arabesque’s is still talking its head off all the time.

Yesterday i went for a massage and it was going on and on for 90 mins. At first the masseuse was quiet about it, but then I could hear her giggling about 30 mins into it. People don’t normally hear it/react to it, but it was quiet in the room…it was hard to ignore. 🤷🏻‍♀️

She asked me if i wanted some fruit. 😂

Mine goes crazy too but it's never hunger. It is always when I am eating and sometimes when I take my first first sips of my Fluid after eating.

Last night you could hear it over the TV.

My gremlin is very talkative. Last night, it was very vocal during my evening tea drinking. It was worse immediately post surgery but definitely still noisy 8-9 months out. This is the new normal!

Mine was loud at the beginning, but now it's only loud occasionally. But, my mom and cousin also have very loud stomachs and they didn't have surgery, so it doesn't seem that weird to me.

Wait so the churning I have at night isn’t an ulcer? lol thank God! And it’s always on cue too. I know I’m not hungry maybe not even thirsty. It’s uncomfortable at times and wakes me up. No heartburn or anything in my chest just my stomach. Does go away if I ignore it or take a antacid..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
