Hello. This website is a godsend!!! I get so much support and assistance every time that I visit. I am 2 weeks post op and my incision site is still sore. I have a desk job and I keep hitting by incision on my desk. Is this normal??? :scared:

It feels much better than it did, but it is still sore. Gets worse in the evening. Pad the incision area with some gauze (Curad makes one that fits loosely over the area and is self-sticking). That helps keep the irritation from clothes and other things from bothering me.

I have a little soreness in the port incision, but the others are healing rapidly. I feel more of an alien thing inside me. I tend to want to hold my hand over it. I feel it the most when turning over at night from one side to the other.

My surgery was on May 8th and I am very sore the last two days in the port area all the time except when I am laying down. At first it was just when I turned the wrong way in bed but it was better as long as I was very careful. I wonder if I pulled it out of place somehow sleeping wrong or while I was walking my dog? Sneezed a few times today and it was terrible! I go back to work next week sitting at a desk also and will definitely get the padded bandages. All of the other incisions are healing nicely.

I would think it is normal. I was really worried about mine, but about six weeks after surgery, the swelling went down. It did stay a little inflamed. I went at 3 weeks and had them check it, they gave me an antibiotic because it seemed a little inflamed. Now, I never even hardly realize it is there. Seems weird because it was so prevalent right after surgery I thought it would always bother me.

Thanks Candy8360 for the info. It is good to know that it does get better and won't be so noticable. I will keep an eye on it to be sure it doesn't get inflamed. Good Luck to all of us Banded and yet to be Banded!!! This is the healthiest and Best thing we can do for ourselves and our loved ones....take better care of us!!!

YES, I agree. How much weight are you looking to lose? I know, my biggest deterrant has been the lack of exercise. If I could get myself motivated to start, I'm sure I would lose faster. I've lost 35 pounds since December 4th.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
