I have a Calcium deficiency so I take more than the average needed. I take 3,500 mg daily. But according to my endocrinologist, you can only absorb about 750 mg at a time. If you take more than that, it just flushes away. So I take it every 4 hours, 5 times a day. You should ask your doctor how much to take.

I was told I didn't have to take Calcium if I got enough from my diet. I'm pretty close, some days I get more than I need. But I don't take the supplements usually because they aren't absorbed well.

We weren't told to take Fiber supplements. If I get constipated I drink coffee, take Miralax, and use a suppository, in that order if it doesn't get better.

I was told to take two of the calcium citrate chews that are 500 and in terms of fiber that was as needed lost surgery to keep me regular. I used the Walmart generic for benefiber which is a powder and I just added a spoonful a day to my crystal light and that was enough. Then when I got to a more normal serving size I slowly decrease and did away with it. Some people need to stay on something for life though to keep them regular after WLS
