Jillianq 4 Posted April 23, 2022 I just got gastric sleeve surgery 2 days ago. I’m burping but no gas yet. Any suggestions that helps you fart? It’s so painful 1 summerseeker reacted to this
Arabesque 7,417 Posted April 23, 2022 The gas pain can be worse than the pain from the surgery. Walking is your best options & GasX. Have also heard that deep slow breaths can help by forcing the gas up & out. I wouldn’t try to force yourself to pass wind. After surgery this can be ‘dangerous’ because of the risk of ‘wet farts’ or diarrhoea. Yikes!! Remember the gas is actually in your abdominal cavity not your actual tummy or intestines/colon. Plus the gas they use rises in your body as it tries to escape hence the shoulder pain. It will take a few days but it will eventually dissipate. 1 Crisscat reacted to this
TheWeightisOvr 74 Posted April 23, 2022 Yep just like Arabesque said. You gotta ride it out my dear. My gas pain was off the chain for almost 2 weeks, not trying to scare you but just giving you my experience. I did what was already suggested and sipped my Water. It hurt but I had to walk but what helped me the most while sitting was a heating pad, either on my abdomen, my side, my back, literally anywhere. That thing was life I tell you lol it will certainly pass soon you WILL feel amazing soon I promise you. Just hang in there.
bespinalmelendez610 3 Posted April 23, 2022 farting too a few days and to go #2 one week for me and the initial farting was painful. the Gas pain the first 2 days were horrible 😣 walking around was the only thing and gas x but was still very painful. had my mom rub my back and told her to please do it hard as it was so painful then was sore for like a week for the rib too. Salon pass pads helped and warm packs.
Esi 179 Posted April 24, 2022 I second the heating pad. Hospital wouldn’t let me use it till day 3 though! Salonpas and walking didn’t help. Gas-X helped slightly. It took 3-5 days for the pain to decrease. Horrible pain… worse than childbirth because that pain only lasted a couple hours before the epidural.
