liveaboard15 1,293 Posted April 20, 2022 first is a recliner for when you get home. i have yet to be able to lay in a bed, Recliner has been amazing. 2nd would be a item recommended from someone in this group. Biotene dry mouth spray. It will help you so much after surgery when you cant drink much and your mouth is so dry. So whoever recommended that, thank you 2 Mariann812 and kcuster83 reacted to this
chef855 2 Posted April 20, 2022 Is the Biotene "slimy"? I tried an off-brand Biotene and it just left my mouth feeling slimy and filmy.

I cannot be without my Biotene! They make sprays and gels and lozenges. It's also really helpful for when it's time to 'pay the piper' so to say, ladies (and gents) ... 2 chef855 and liveaboard15 reacted to this

lizonaplane 1,613 Posted April 20, 2022 I bought the biotene and didn't use it. I didn't have a recliner, but I found a wedge pillow helpful. One thing I REALLY would have liked was a binder for my belly. I thought the hospital would give me one but they did not. It was really hard to walk when my belly would move and the incisions were pulling.

I was in a binder once i got out of surgery. i found it harder to breath with it on
Esi 179 Posted April 20, 2022 No dry mouth here postop. I could lay on my back, but it was hard to sit up. Several pillows propped up behind me in bed allowed me to get up on my own.
