It is a different culture

It is. And people saying "just have a coke" don't really understand. It's like going to a waterpark and someone telling you to just stand by the side wearing a ball gown and watch the fun, it's just as good.

I’m down with that but wouldn’t that be empty calories too? I say hit the pen. Just my opinion 😂

Consuming 5-10 calories and a couple grams of sugar (to me) far outweighs the tertiary effects of inhaling any chemical substance into your lungs. All of my surgeons and doctors support an edible but do not support or condone smoking of any kind.

If you're okay with that risk, then by all means, toke away!

Not sure if this is a funny question or not, but as you can see from the article there are several areas of health that smoking can effect.

Personally, I don't enjoy coughing, upper respiratory infections, shortness of breath in any form, etc.

Some people don't find drinking "fun." It's just the way it is. Not everyone has to drink in order to have fun. But I get it also that some can't enjoy life or have "fun" without being inebriated.

Woah there! I hate to channel our not long-departed friend but this is an Americanism and quite judgemental to say the least. I prefaced my previous post by saying some people don't understand and that's you.

The "pen" isn't smoking and nothing mentioned in that article apply to vaping.

hey listen, I'm not the researcher here. I'm only relaying my experience. Partake at your own risk.

...better yet, report back in 20 years after you have adequate scientific knowledge on the harmful effects of vaping. One thing is for certain, there is no health benefit for it whatsoever.

First of all this is a forum. I have no friends here, lol. I don't use that word loosely.

I said I understand. I explained it in my previous post. I'm not sure what's difficult to understand about this.

I don't care what nationality or culture I was, even if I wasn't American, I would have the same stance. It has nothing to do with where I live. Lol @ judgemental. Okayyy.

So yeah, I understand perfectly well.

No, I mean the research you quoted relates to smoking not vaping. You can't get lung cancer from vaping.

If you don't think this is being judgemental I can't help you.

That's my opinion. I'm allowed to have opinions, lol. Just as you are.

I never asked for help. Did I?

No idea what this means. You're trying to scare people without evidence.

You're allowed to have judgemental opinions, I'm allowed to have opinions on your opinions and so your circular logic progresses, irrelevant to the point though it may be.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
