liveaboard15 1,293 Posted April 7, 2022 (edited) Today marks day 4 of the pre op liquid diet. Its been rough at times but not as bad as i thought. One thing i have learned is the shakes that you have to mix yourself seriously suck. Prefer the ready to drink shakes so i bought those instead. Which have been the Carnation Breakfast ones, Boost glucose control (which are delicious), and fairlife which i drink just 1 of those a day. My paperwork says if i do get too hungry that i can have 4 oz of lean meats like chicken or fish. So i have been having Sockeye Salmon once a day (which i eat in place of a shake) One big thing is to keep busy. sitting around all you think about is the hunger. spending lots of time out on the Water to keep busy and away from food lol. 9 days to go... I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡ 804 Posted April 7, 2022 Those powder Protein Shake mixes do seriously suck. I'm a fan of Fairlife shakes now. It's basically just ultra filtered milk. So it tastes whey (way) 😂 better. 1 1 SleeveToBypass2023 and summerseeker reacted to this
new-name2020 5 Posted April 8, 2022 I've been a huge fan of Premier Protein shakes for the past 3.5 years. Only 1-2 carbs/sugars and to me the best tasting. I've tried nearly every flavor, from your classic chocolate/vanilla/strawberry, to Cookies n Creme; Apple Cinnamon and Oats (which tastes great heated), and one of my favorites chocolate Peanut Butter. You'd think I had stock in the company! (I don't) but I highly recommend. Another change of pace is to try Bone Broth. Swanson makes sipping broths in different flavors which you can just pop in the microwave for a warm and savory (protein) alternative. Lastly, I discovered this late, sugar-free Popsicles and Gelatin (Jell-o) for both pre and post op (and beyond). Post-op, this will get you some hydration, sooth your insides, and a flavorful treat. Hope this helps. The first few days are the hardest. You will do just fine! 3 Bricam20, SleeveToBypass2023 and liveaboard15 reacted to this

I have to do a week of pre op liquid diet and then of course post op. Every company says theirs is the best, so to hear from ladies who actually tried some and have real opinions is super helpful.
