Kind of difficult to respond to this without details. Have you completely abandoned exercise and food tracking? Did you decide to start eating foods that were not in your post surgical food recommendations?

Been there, done that, still there. I gained 30 pounds back during COVID but the good news is I just recently re-lost them. So there IS hope and the WLS still is a tool to use. Don't feel defeated.

Start from ground zero and get back to your post surgical processes. They worked then, they can work again. You have to get the discipline back and stick to it. We all fall back from time to time.

It happens. I am only a year post op. Didn’t quite get to my goal weight and gained ten pounds back to boot. We are all just human. Try not to beat yourself up.

I went through the same thing as you - In Dec 2016 I got the sleeve and lost about 120 lbs in about 6 months. Then over the next few years for various reasons I stopped following the plan and put almost all of it back on. I had revision surgery to a bypass this past November and am down about 75 lbs so far and still losing, best thing I ever did for myself.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
