All of the above.
I read all of your posts. But sometimes I don’t have any/or I can’t remember what it was like 4 months out of surgery so I don’t say anything.

How is Barination more tailored than this?

BariNation is a paid community. Its equal parts forum/social media and education. They have several support groups each week tailed for different needs (pre-op, post-op, regain, men's & women's, etc.), monthly presentations from experts (dieticians, therapists, and so on), and they do live and virtual meet ups. Its much more comprehensive than just a forum and, because its paid, there are ZERO keyboard warriors/internet trolls and everyone in the community is invested.

Fair enough. For $29 a month I'd really hope so.

Hey @thinblueline,

So nice to have you here. I am not the most active member of this forum, but I like to read the things you post.

I don't always reply to everything I read...sorry about that.

As always, good luck on your journey.

Can someone give me some advice or information. I had Gastric Sleeve February 25th, so I’m about 6 wks out. My stomach always hurts when I eat it’s so uncomfortable. How long does that usually last? Any help would be appreciated

Have you been having pain since your surgery or is this a recent development? It could be that your stomach is still healing and needs more TLC before it can handle the foods youre throwing at it. Maybe try going back to soft foods or even pureed for a week or so.

Also, you could be swallowing too big of pieces. Try slowing down and really chewing your food to that applesauce consistancy.

Hiya, no need to feel blue 😊we are all here for each other in a variety of ways! I love reading everyone’s different stories about their experiences, we are all so different (and yet the same)😊

I don't post a lot, but I do read a lot. What I have seen sometimes are new posters who post a lot and share a lot very quickly, then they disappear within a few weeks. In the meantime, people have equally shared their experience and invested a lot of time in reponding to the new poster. Next time round, another new poster who posts a lot and shares a lot very quickly and each time round, existing members are slower to respond.

Existing members are then waiting to see if the new poster is going to stick around, see if its worth engaging in a meaningful way. Particularly when the new member is posting a lot of personal info and asking others to exchange the same about them and/or asking questions that may take a lot of time to respond to.

Give it time, this may be an anonymous message board but some people still are still cautious and want to take time to get to know others in a basic way, see if they can relate to the person and their personal circumstances and/or their questions and if they do, then they engage in a more meaningful way.

A lot of people are short of time too, they like to come and go quickly and may respond to posts that do not require a lot of time.

With all do respect, you are very defensive and a touch confrontational in your responses. I experienced this with you a couple weeks ago. People are not going to respond if they feel they are at risk of being attacked for their opinion. You are from the Boston area it seems, as am I originally and I know that people from there can be a little pushy and argumentative so I get it. Chill out a little my friend.

It's not a clique but it's not a bunch of teenagers chatting either. We generally post a topic and people respond if it relates to them. It's different from other social media.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
