I've just found this forum. I got my band on July 2nd and have lost 47 pounds. In a support group meeting, they told me about a book called "The Lap Band Solution". Does anyone know how to get a copy of it?

Hello everyone. I have just came across this forum. I am having my surgery tomorrow. I am really ready to begin this new journey. I have to say that I am really not too nervous, but am very apprehensive. I want to lose a bunch of weight and want the band to work like by pass. I look forward to the changes I will be seeing. :eyebrows:

Okay all. I have felt like total crap the past few days. Is this common? I do not feel like eating a thing, or drinking as when I do, no matter what amount I have the left shoulder pain. I feel as if I need to belch, but can't. Do any of you have any suggestions? I hope these crummy feelings pass soon. :help:

Try Gas-X strips. Those and a heating pad should help with the gas pains. Also, walk, walk, walk. This will help get the gas out also.

Good luck and congrats.

Thank you so much. I have to ask. Where are you from? I live in Iowa about 80 miles from Omaha? I was just curious.

thanks

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
