Same!!!! We're surgery buddies!!!!! Are you nervous at all? I thought I would be by now, but I'm honestly just excited!!!

I cant say anymore if Im nervous or just anxious about it. I think they give you something before surgery to calm you lol Or at least I am hoping. My feeling is more like dread but not for the surgery itself just that I have to do it if that makes sense.

The only thing I'm a little uneasy about is the gas pain I keep hearing about. I had my gallbladder out in 97 when I was pregnant and other than pain at the incision sites, I don't remember any gas pain. I'm hoping it'll be like that now. I had to have my stomach inflated then, too, and I have 4 laparoscopy scars to show for it. Guess I'll be adding more since this one requires 5, I think lol

Oh excellent!! I’ll try and post after my surgery to tell you how it went! Thank you so much for the good wishes! Good luck with your surgery too!!

if you’re getting your gastroscopy done by them, it’s a great experience. They sedate you so you don’t feel a thing!

Congrats and I’m very excited for your big day tomorrow!
I think that everyone reacts differently and possibly with many different emotions. I don’t anticipate being nervous but rather excited…but, who knows! 🤷🏻‍♀️
Wishing you the best and I’m looking forward to your update! ❤️

I’m getting my surgery tomorrow and I had a major freak out last night. I know I can do this. But this is a lot more emotionally hard than I thought it would be.

I think your reaction is perfectly appropriate. Good thoughts coming your way, and I’ll be looking for your update. ❤️

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
