cgp1204 11 Posted March 12, 2022 Hi all. I had RNY on 3/1. The pain has gotten progressively better, but I’m still having pain mid-stomach at the largest incision (not the incision itself - internal pain) when I move, bend, or reach certain ways. I’m scared that I ripped something inside 😒 I haven’t had fever, nausea, vomiting or anything else, so hoping it’s just still “settling.” My post op appt got moved to this coming Wednesday. Anyone else have tales of post-op pain taking a while?
FutureSylph 377 Posted March 12, 2022 I had RNY on 3/3, so I'm two days behind you, but -- yeah, I still have plenty of abdominal pain, which seems to be both internal and external. It's major surgery, and I didn't expect healing to be complete in a week. If you're not having any other symptoms of trouble, just take your meds, the most important one being a healthy dose of Tincture of Time. Good luck! 2 FarfelDiego and cgp1204 reacted to this

Good to know we’re close in this journey. Hope you are feeling better by the day. And good point - I think I’ve tried to downplay the major surgery part 🙃
Toomany#s 59 Posted March 12, 2022 It’s easy to look at the small incisions and try to minimize the surgery, but it’s definitely Major surgery. 1 cgp1204 reacted to this

Arabesque 7,416 Posted March 13, 2022 Yep, it’s easy to look at those tiny external incisions & forget about all the internal sutures & staples holding your digestive system together. Don’t forget all the muscles that were stretched & strained & organs that were pushed about during the surgery too. Yes time heals all things but if the pain persists or worsens, contact your surgeon or go to your closest medical centre.
