teedsg 253 Posted July 11, 2022 I’m almost a veteran. I was sleeved in 2017. Never reached my goal weight. But, I did get down to 185 or so. My advice is if you are a sweets lover or have binge eating issues, go with the gastric bypass. I didn’t listen to my first doctor and got the sleeve. I’m back up to 222 and struggling to get my weight down. My other advice is to not get off the dietary/lifestyle plan. 1 LoveLife2021 reacted to this

Tink22-sleeve 528 Posted February 14, 2023 Hmm. Sounds like lots of us had significant weight regain or never met goal. I also found out that my severe GERD that started immediately after the sleeve surgery is due to a hiatal hernia (also not there pre surgery). My choices? A sleeve revision, bypass, or be content with where I am. I’d love to hear what choices you all are making. thank you 😊
DebCC 0 Posted February 24, 2023 I am 10+ years out. Starting weight 367 current weight 178. Got to 215 or so and dr found thyroid problems. Med change from Synthroid to Citomel. Lost the rest…to 150. Dr changed med…gained Wilbur. So frustrated…. Dr says thyroid normal now! Absolutely NO energy! Anyone have similar problem….how was it addressed? mi75 1,235 Posted March 11, 2023 I'm just about 9 years out. I have been in a struggle with regain and severe GERD. I've just recently gotten myself back on track with tracked eating and physical activity regimen. Hopefully it works.

DeletedMember 715 Posted April 25, 2023 I had my 7-year follow up in March. Started at 5’8” and about 335 lbs. still 5’8”, haha, but weigh 163 lbs. I’m about 10lbs over my minimum sustained weight, but I’m happy where I’m at. Have been WFPB for the last 6 years or so.
iterum amitto 0 Posted February 25, 2024 I was on this forum ages ago but when I was thinking about you all and tried to log back in I could not remember my old user ID so I created a new one. I even tried searching for key words I remember taking about for a meetup in the Boston area. I gave up and created a new account. I had my RnY in November 2015. I had the most amazing and pain free recovery. I had my old clip on Fitbit on the day of surgery. It was taking them a while to get me a bed out of recovery and I was bored. I managed to walk five miles that day just in laps around the nurses' station. The nurses didn't believe me but I was able to show them! I went home the next day and had no reactions to meds or food. The hardest part was having my mom stay with me for a few days and wanting to help when I was really fine on my own. What hurt her was she could not use her love language of food on me. I kept most of the weight off until COVID. Working from home and not being accountable to pants with buttons for two years took its toll. With normal weight creep, a bad knee injury in 2020 that led to a lack of exercise, and then COVID too, I gained back about 40 lbs. that I am in the process of losing again with Mounjaro. purple.butterfly 1 Posted March 14, 2024 I had surgery way back in 2010. I lost the weight the Doctor predicted but not as much as I would have wished. But it has stayed off with little effort on my part. I do have some metabolic issues as I get older. How are you doing?Sent from my SM-P613 using Tapatalk
sweetsmith78 60 Posted March 20, 2024 5 years out of vsg . Please no judgement. I’m loosing to much😢. I regret the decision to better my life with this surgery . now I’m walking skeleton. It’s a side effect that’s not talked about. ( shame ) If anyone is having the same issue please reach out. I understand most aren’t in my predicament. But nice encouraging words are helpful. carenwithac 1 Posted April 16, 2024 I'm 4 yrs out. Keeping the weight off but my Bp is creeping up high like it was. I'm stressed a lot going through a divorce and I'm low on Iron. Working on doing what I should. Ie drinking Water, getting enough Protein. The bad habits of eating sugar/carbs are back. Sigh 1 SarahByNumbers reacted to this

ms.sss 15,713 Posted April 17, 2024 I'll be "exactly" 5 ½ years post sleeve next week...started at 235 lbs. been maintaining below goal weight this whole time. depending on the day, i lost anywhere between115-120 lbs total since settling into the 115-120 lb range for over 4 years now. i do have a bit of an annoying reflux issue i have to deal with (i take the min dosage omzparole once a day), but other than that, no real complaints and life is more than good.
