I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡ 804 Posted March 9, 2022 Well, this veteran is starting over. I was married to a Lap Band for about 7 years, then I got that infamous 7 year itch and divorced him! I'm in the process of revising to bypass now. How's your journey going, @Tink22-sleeve?

I don't believe "Veteran's" in this context is about military service, rather it is about having had WLS a number of months, years, or decades in the past. Tink22-sleeve 528 Posted March 10, 2022 I have been doing pretty well, overall. Life goes on after surgery for sure. But, I have been blessed. Really my only complaint about the sleeve is that I developed awful GERD immediately after surgery, so I am dependent on Prilosec twice a day. I suppose a revision to bypass would solve that problem. Yeah, that was the cause of my divorce from my band... GERD. I lived with it for years, and was on Protonix twice daily and it didn't help much at all. I still had to sleep sitting up. When I developed a kidney stone from PPI usage, I filed for divorce immediately. 😁

Tink22-sleeve 528 Posted March 10, 2022 Oh interesting! Other than GERD, where there other reasons for the revision? I'd like to consider that myself. When are you scheduled?

When are you scheduled? No mostly just GERD. I never made it to my goal weight with the band, so hoping to lose more weight with the revision. I just had my first appointment about a month ago to start the process, and I have one more visit with the dietician next week and then I see the surgeon for a pre op visit and I'll get my date then. We're thinking it might work out for the end of April tho. 1 Tink22-sleeve reacted to this
