Dcsjoc 35 Posted February 26, 2022 So I’m almost 5 weeks post op, I’m down 41lbs including my 2 week pre-op. I have moved to soft foods stage 4 in my plan. Egg salad, scrambled eggs, cheese sticks, chili, still eating Soups and I have now added fluke, and cod to the menu. I’m able to take in about 3-4oz of the fish, 2 scrambled eggs, a cup of soup(doesn’t matter which type, also not eating chix if chix Soup and so on) I drink a Protein Shake almost every day(fair life 150 cal 30g protein) and I’m now back at the gym treadmill 30-40 min both incline and non inclined and I started with the weights(not heavy) I feel my stomach is probably healed at this point as my acid reflux has gone away since eating some real food. I do take an acid reducer in the morning as prescribed by my Dr. Also getting in my B12, multi and Calcium Vitamins almost regularly. Is anyone else eating anything else?? When can I eat a salad? I do get about 64 oz of Water and tea how is everyone else doing???
MissT25 10 Posted February 26, 2022 (edited) I'm 5 weeks out as of yesterday and I have Protein Shakes in the morning and afternoon (Fairlife also), then a Light & Fit yogurt for snack mid morning (80 cal, 12g protein). For lunch and dinner, I've eaten a variety of things... Started with flaky types of fish and over the last week have tried different kinds of meat. I successfully ate pulled pork, shredded chicken, and 2 tiny beef meatballs. I added sugar-free BBQ Sauce if it seemed like it might be too dry. I ate some canned green Beans and zucchini. I eat unsweetened apple sauce every once in awhile. Today for lunch, I had 2 oz of turkey deli meat, a slice of fresh mozzarella cheese, and 5 cheez it crackers (chewed well). Tonight I plan to have some kind of seafood with peas and carrots. My husband grilled some chicken last night and it was tougher than what I had been eating and I didn't enjoy having to chew each bite a gazillion times to make it soft. So I'm sticking with the softer meats for a bit. I haven't had any issues or tummy trouble at all thank goodness! I am going to stay away from any raw vegetables like lettuce for awhile as I heard those can be harder to digest? Edited February 26, 2022 by MissT25
Dcsjoc 35 Posted February 26, 2022 That is great!!! I am looking forward to adding new things. I have also had some shrimp. If you don’t mind me asking how many calories are you taking in a day. I am getting up to 500 but sumtimes a lot less and only a couple of days where I hit 600+. I usually get 60-65 grams of Protein but I am also still not back to work. I’m a lineman so my job is physical and I’m not sure how it’s going to be with so few calories.
MissT25 10 Posted February 26, 2022 I usually have between 600 and 700, maybe 800 calories if I eat some fruit. 380 calories are from 2 shakes and the yogurt. That ensures I'm getting plenty of Protein and 1/3 of my liquids, then leaves 100-200 for each meal, which is plenty, and then I can have some fruit here and there. I forgot to mention earlier that last night I had 1/2 chicken taco and it was the best thing ever. 1/2 low carb tortilla = 25 cal, 2oz shredded chicken = 60 cal, 2 tbs of refried Beans = 30 cal, a little taco sauce = 10 cal, and 1/4 bag of Quest Protein chips = 30 cal. What was nice about this meal was that it kept me feeling full for longer than other meals I had been eating and I just felt very satisfied. Almost "normal." 🙂 1 Dcsjoc reacted to this
