Emerao276 0 Posted February 24, 2022 I’m exactly 3 weeks post op and been suffering with very bad constant back pain for the past 4 days. I can’t sit still at work, I can’t stand or walk for too long either. Im not sure whether it’s gas pain or something else. I also have stomach pain and bring up foamy stuff whenever I have a drink of Water. Anyone experienced something similar?
GradyCat 3,695 Posted February 24, 2022 Any time you say "severe" that warrants a call to your surgeon's office to ask the question. I know the "foamies" from eating something my pouch won't tolerate, but not from Water. 1 catwoman7 reacted to this
Kay_G_B 10 Posted February 24, 2022 I ended up with back pain as well post surgery. The nurse at my doctor's office said it is common and typically the result of lying on that hard flat surgical table.I had issues with back pain prior to surgery though as a result of an epidermal, so every now and then I'll have reoccurring problems (usually after laying flat). What works for me is taking an anti-inflammatory, heating pad and stretching. It usually takes a couple of days, but the pain will go away.Kay_G_B
lizonaplane 1,613 Posted February 24, 2022 I had back pain a few weeks after surgery. This is common as you lose weight because you carry yourself differently. Do NOT take anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen, aleve, aspirin) without talking to your surgeon as they are not recommended after bariatric surgery. Talk to your doctor about what medications are safe for you and what you can do in terms of heat or stretching that might help. 2 Arabesque and SleeverSk reacted to this
Queen ApisM 427 Posted February 24, 2022 The fact that you are getting foamies from drinking Water is worrying. You should reach out to your surgical team. 3 OutdoorsGirl, Arabesque and SleeverSk reacted to this
OutdoorsGirl 93 Posted February 25, 2022 I’ve had mid to upper back pain and thigh numbness ever since my surgery 3.5 months ago. I haven’t been taking anything for it, but it is annoying. Im seeing a neurologist about it in a couple of weeks.
want2bhealthygirl 5 Posted February 26, 2022 I’ve had mid to upper back pain and thigh numbness ever since my surgery 3.5 months ago. I haven’t been taking anything for it, but it is annoying. Im seeing a neurologist about it in a couple of weeks. My middle back on my left side is hurting too after surgery. I'm thinking it's compensating for my stomach weakness. I am going to email my doctor.[emoji173]Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
