I am so glad I found this group/forum! I have already searched and answered most of my questions.

That being said, Thursday is my 2 week appointment and I am hoping I am cleared to move from liquids to the puree stage. Any favorite recipes out there that helped you get through this stage? Thanks in advance :)

I don't remember doing pureed. I think I did liquids for 3 weeks then to soft foods and regular foods. I still drink Protein Shakes.

I did pureed and I think it depends on your taste and whether the texture suits you. My faves were honestly just my family's dinner pureed. Best thing I ever tasted in my life was roast lamb with veg and gravy but blended to a babyfood consistency. Soup is good because you can just use a blender for any lumps - if you make your own add lentils or potatoes to thicken them up. Thin porridge with apple sauce.

Well done on getting to two weeks - that's the hardest part done for most of us. 😍

I didn't have a strictly pureed stage, but early on I did have a lot of refried Beans with cheese and fat-free Greek yogurt. I particularly like the Chorizo flavored beans.

Greek yogurt without fruit bits is great, too. I also liked the ricotta bake.

Another thing I tried was pureed buffalo chicken dip, made with just canned chicken, frank's hot sauce, and bolthouse yogurt ranch. It looked really weird but tasted good, You can also probably puree tuna fish with some mayo or Miracle Whip.

Have you heard about the ricotta bake. I had that practically daily during purée phase.

A couple people sent me this recipe and as a Pasta lover I am so excited to try it! haha. I already ordered the indredients for grocery pick up. Thanks for the tip :)

I love Buffalo Chicken Dip! Did they hot sauce sit well with your stomach, or did you use less than you normally would?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
