What are you treating yourself with?

I swim at the pool a lot but a Water park is a different thing - there are many near me but to walk around for the whole day with that little on is a step beyond the beach or a pool and that's going to be my treat this summer.

I went to Marshalls and tried on a few swimsuits today. The smaller sizes fit now but between a long torso and larger bust I had no luck finding anything that fit properly. Someone told me about a swimsuit specialty store that I plan to visit and hope to find a good fit to treat myself for all my hard work.

I have so many things I would like to change , its a mixture of things I need to do or reward myself with:

Sort my hair, changes glasses, get decent underwear and get clothes that fit!

In terms of activities, anything really! I ve been doing day trips lately. Would like to go to the beach soon...But ultimately would like to socialise more.

I can't say that I have "treated" myself with anything when it comes with food. I mean, if I feel like having something I just do if it's let's say, a cookie or two (an actual true serving size or less). Like the dietician says, it's not like you're sitting down eating an entire bag/box/etc. of said "bad" food 'cause now I have limits and stick to them. Anyway, that doesn't happen often anyway as I really haven't felt the desire to have such things.

Haven't treated myself to clothes yet either because I can't see wasting money if I could potentially still lose weight (I have about 50-60 lbs to go).

BUT, what I WILL FINALLY treat myself to soon, now that I lost the weight that I have, is a kayaking trip with my husband!! I was always worried about my weight before and would never give it a try. Was also always embarrassed to ask about weight limits when it came to it before too so I just never did. So now, within the next month or two when it opens, my butt is gonna be out there on one! LOL THAT will be a real treat for me.

Would also like to eventually get on a jet ski. Another thing I always avoided due to my weight. Haven't been to an amusement park in decades either. Something my husband and I used to always love to do. But of course I have avoided it due to my weight but now, unfortunately, he can't really do it either due to some heart issues he has. So, not sure I'll ever get back to one of those but we'll see. He said he'd still go with me even if he can't get on anything so maybe one day I'll take him up on that.

I never let my weight get in the way of doing things I wanted before and it didn't keep me from treating myself, but I sure am enjoying being a size large now instead of a 5x! It's much easier to buy clothes now and I never could get much at a thrift store before, but now I can get so much! I've really been enjoying thrifting a lot.

New people!

What?! Yeah, I mean, I'm not buying people. I'm treating myself with saying yes to all the things I used to say no to before. I shouldn't have let my weight come in the way, but you can't fight the good fight all the time.

I really want a nice car, but have settled for just researching them lol. It's a compromise my logic and emotions can agree on.

My son brought me a t-shirt home from a concert…it was a woman’s style (i.e. fitted) size medium…it looked TINY compared to the 3XLs I used to wear. I looked at it and said “no way is that going to fit me!” But my husband said he thought it would so I decided to show him…OMG! IT FIT!!! Wow! My husband and son both laughed and said “your eyes haven’t caught up with your reality yet!” So true…body dysmorphia is real.

Treated myself to a motorcycle now that I don’t have to worry so much about people being jerks to me when I’m out and about! Clothes. So many clothes.

Spending so much less on food has freed up a lot of room in my budget!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
