Hello all. I hope you are all doing well. I am 4 weeks post op and on softs now. However, everything that I eat gets me super nauseous. I don’t know what it is. I’m staying in the guidelines of what I can and can’t eat, but I am miserable. I haven’t really lost any weight, but I do see the inches disappearing. Has this happened to anyone? What advice can you give because I am getting very depressed?

I would call and talk to your team about the nausea. I’m sure that They can prescribe something that should help with that. If you are following plan and you are seeing inches disappearing try to focus on that and just hang in there and you will see the scale move soon enough.

I'm not sure why the nausea would still be with you 4 weeks post-op. Maybe call the surgeon's office to ask and maybe get a prescription for nausea medication. It also seems odd that you haven't lost any pounds in 4 weeks. It usually falls off like crazy immediately after surgery. Maybe mention that to your doctor as well. Are you going to the bathroom okay?

I had the sleeve.

thanks. If you'd had bypass I would have suspected a possibly stricture, but those are pretty rare with sleeves. I agree with the others - I'd contact your clinic. Something isn't right here...

I had a lot of nausea from my Multivitamin. I have to take it with food right before I go to bed. That's pretty common. Or you could be eating too much or too fast. I had a lot of nausea at first. When do you get nausea? Is it all the time? After you eat or drink? At night? Talk to your surgery center, because there is medication you can take for sure. Like ondansetron (Zofran).

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
