I spent a lot of time today looking for the Vitamins I will be taking after the surgery. I was reading the packet I got from my surgeon and there was a lot of details I needed to go over to make those decisions. I had started a Vitamin regimen based on some YouTube videos I watched, but after getting into the nitty gritty of it I realized I was going to need much higher dosages than what was recommended. It took me some time to balance out what I needed for the amount of money it will cost me every month. As I was doing this it made me feel much better about the care I am going to give myself after the surgery which greatly reduced any anxieties I was having. I’ve got about 3 weeks to go (My surgery is April 4th) and I’m planning on concentrating on preparing for my post-op needs.

If you still a recommendation, Bariatric Vitamins from ProCare are wonderful!

Does anyone have any recommendations on a chewable/ melt away Vitamin that isn't incredibly vomit inducing? Can't swallow a pill until 30 days after surgery and I'm nervous. My first round with a chewable was not good 🤢

Thanks, I’ll look into that. The hardest thing to find has been a chewable B-50 complex. So far the closest thing I can find is a liquid version.

I have been using Barimelt and they are really good, but turns out you have to take more of them to get the recommended dosage which can get pretty expensive. I’ve ordered some from Unjary. I’ve heard they are pretty good so we’ll see.

Shazza_ob1 the anxiety struggle is real! I, very recently had a huge anxiety melt down. For me organization is key. Having a folder or binder will be helpful. I cleared a shelf in my pantry for all of my post surgery supplies. This helped me greatly. I'm in the US and I assume by your wording you are not. I have no idea how the insurance process works but never be sorry for saying how you feel here. This is a safe place for all of us to say what we are feeling. Good luck 😊

Very well said! Beautiful!

Have you guys looked into this site's formula? Bariatric pal has many varieties with varied flavors too to get you started. Plus they also have baraotric special where you only need to take once a day instead of having to take multiple pills a day.

Immediately post op I took the Bariatric Advantage chewable. I was able to take it without food even and it didn’t upset my stomach. Of course everyone is different but I did well with it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
