Any Baytown, Tx Bandsters?

Recommended Posts

are there any baytown, texas bandsters out there? and if so, is there a support group in our area other then in houston? driving to houston in the middle of the week is nearly impossible for me. i would LOVE to attend dr. spivaks support group, but the time and place just isn't feasible.

just wondering if there's any baytown, texas bandsters out there with a more local support group that gathers together here in town?

please let me know.

thanks, hazeleyegrl1

would anyone be willing to help me start a support group of our own in baytown???

one suggestion i have is to get the banded baytownians and persons from the surrounding areas, like highlands, mt.belvieu, crosby, etc. together @ one of the starbucks in baytown maybe twice a month.

would anyone be interested?

i really don't know how to organize one of these things but i think we really need an informal support group of our own in this area!

please let me know if anyone is interested.

thanks!

xoxo, christie

GREAT! so ummm, how do we get started? i need help getting the ball rolling. my fear is that if we simply mention a date, time, & location that we may have a few show up, and of course it will hopefully grow over time....

but what do we do once we're there????

Christie,

Please send me an e-mail to jpifer@calpine.com and let me know how to contact you. We have about 3 or 4 people interested in a support group in Baytown, so I think it would work out fine. Please just let me know, we are all anxiously waiting.

Thank you so much.

There is a meeting tonight in Baytown. It is at Starbucks on Garth across from Walmart At 6:30.

Aww I missed the meeting.:) I forgot to check back on this thread to see if anything had ever been set up. I hope there will be more meetings because I'd really like to go.

I am from Dayton and would love to meet with you all sometime. I meet with the Atascocita Kingwood group when I can and it is always fun.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
