I'm 2 week, 2 day post op. Usually when someone has a procedure done, the doctor tells you recovery is XX weeks. Well, not really this time. So..how long before you start feeling normal again. I stay tired all the time.

It took me a good month before I wasn't constantly tired. And it gets better, and fast. I have so much energy now it's hard to believe (though I do crash around 8:30 p.m.... but I get up at 5 a.m.).

We all heal & recover in our own time. Some will say I was fine after a week or two others will say a month. Me, I was a couple of months but I always seem to take longer to recover from everything even a cold. Plus it was complicated by my tendency for occasional drops in blood pressure becoming low BP all day every day. Even my head became doughy & my concentration was poor.

Don’t give yourself a deadline. Take your recovery at your pace & listen to your body. Keep working at meeting your Fluid & Protein goals. But you won’t feel like you did before - you’ll feel so much better because of your weight loss & improving general health. Won’t it be great.

Give your body time to heal. It gets better every day. You just went through a major operation, so your body needs healing energy. Hang in there.

I agree with the others. Everyone has their own time frame for healing and it is kind of all over the map from what I’ve seen. Just listen to your body and don’t try to rush it. It takes what it takes. It does get a little better each day though so hopefully you will be feeling at least a little more energized soon.

Everyone is different, but for me, I felt differences at 1 week, 2 weeks, and then pretty normal at 4 weeks. The fatigue was intense the first month (I took daily afternoon naps) but after that I really felt great.

Pretty much what everyone else has said. Often in the first few weeks you aren't getting nearly enough nutrients to fuel your body as it recovers. I found once I could get in adequate calories (600-800) and all my fluids (64-80oz) I felt MUCH better and had lots of energy.

Oh my God. I loved those afternoon naps. Sometimes I wish I still had a great excuse to have a nana nap.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
