oldandtired 238 Posted January 27, 2022 I'm 2 week, 2 day post op. Usually when someone has a procedure done, the doctor tells you recovery is XX weeks. Well, not really this time. So..how long before you start feeling normal again. I stay tired all the time. 1 Christy Comeaux reacted to this
liveaboard15 1,293 Posted January 28, 2022 are you getting enough to drink and getting in that Protein? 1 oldandtired reacted to this
vikingbeast 987 Posted January 28, 2022 It took me a good month before I wasn't constantly tired. And it gets better, and fast. I have so much energy now it's hard to believe (though I do crash around 8:30 p.m.... but I get up at 5 a.m.). 1 oldandtired reacted to this
Arabesque 7,395 Posted January 28, 2022 We all heal & recover in our own time. Some will say I was fine after a week or two others will say a month. Me, I was a couple of months but I always seem to take longer to recover from everything even a cold. Plus it was complicated by my tendency for occasional drops in blood pressure becoming low BP all day every day. Even my head became doughy & my concentration was poor. Don’t give yourself a deadline. Take your recovery at your pace & listen to your body. Keep working at meeting your Fluid & Protein goals. But you won’t feel like you did before - you’ll feel so much better because of your weight loss & improving general health. Won’t it be great. 1 oldandtired reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted January 28, 2022 Give your body time to heal. It gets better every day. You just went through a major operation, so your body needs healing energy. Hang in there. 1 oldandtired reacted to this
ShoppGirl 4,973 Posted January 28, 2022 I agree with the others. Everyone has their own time frame for healing and it is kind of all over the map from what I’ve seen. Just listen to your body and don’t try to rush it. It takes what it takes. It does get a little better each day though so hopefully you will be feeling at least a little more energized soon. 1 oldandtired reacted to this
Queen ApisM 427 Posted January 28, 2022 Everyone is different, but for me, I felt differences at 1 week, 2 weeks, and then pretty normal at 4 weeks. The fatigue was intense the first month (I took daily afternoon naps) but after that I really felt great. 1 oldandtired reacted to this
MandoGetsSleeved 443 Posted January 28, 2022 Pretty much what everyone else has said. Often in the first few weeks you aren't getting nearly enough nutrients to fuel your body as it recovers. I found once I could get in adequate calories (600-800) and all my fluids (64-80oz) I felt MUCH better and had lots of energy. 1 oldandtired reacted to this

Sometimes I wish I still had a great excuse to have a nana nap. 2 oldandtired and SleeverSk reacted to this
