My birthday is the 24th… the scheduler was like, “I wasn’t sure if you’d be wanting to spend your bday in the hospital… I was like, “Are you kidding? It’s my new birthday!” Lol

Hello, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm throwing it out there anyway! 😊

What Vitamins are you guys getting? I haven't been able to decide on that just yet.

I bought Bariatric Fusion. I haven’t started on them my surgery is this Monday but my nutritionist gave me samples. Not the best in taste but they will do for now.

Bariatric fusion chewable. If you are getting the sleeve, it's the only Vitamin you have to take. They are only sold online. The berry flavor is pretty good!

Thank you for the suggestion!

I saw someone else responded with Bariatric Fusion Complete chewable. You do have to take four a day but they have all that you need for the sleeve. It was also a very cost effective choice.

Thank you for the suggestion. I like to hear cost effective. This is a long term investment (as in the rest of my life!), so I want to make sure I find good Vitamins that will do the job. I've heard stories where they don't get the right ones and have had some pretty bad consequences.

Hey guys, my surgery is the 25th of Feb.

I'm so excited 😊

I don't do social media at all so this is really new to me.

I thought it was important to connect with others in the same situation, without putting myself out there in the gossip columns lol

My RNY surgery is tomorrow morning (I have to be at hospital at 0530 for 0730 surgery date!). My Bariatric Surgeon was supposed to do the whole shabang - remove lap band and revise to RNY - in October, 2021 but he only took out the band. He said it was "safer" this way but I was super disappointed. Now I'm just hoping it all goes according to plan tomorrow. Please send prayers for those who pray. This is a game changer for me.

I ended up having my surgery Feb 2 instead of 3, doing pretty well lots of gassy pain, lots of learning how to eat and treat my new stomach. I was supposed to go home today but the hospital asked me to stay because the ice we got. So hopefully I can go home tomorrow.

My surgery date is February 24th, Gastric Bypass in Chicago. Finally after years 10 years of lurking, missed appts(self sabotage), and insurance changes, I made it. Just waiting to find out the date to start my liquid diet and then it really gets real. I’m getting excited but almost feel like I am trying not to be so excited because anything can happen. At this point I’m trying to tell myself it’s really about to happen and think positive. I guess with all the previous issues I’m more nervous about a cancellation or something else wacky going on and some how my surgery getting postpone. A special hello to all my surgery twins!!! We’re almost to the losers bench!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
