Cestes03 1 Posted January 3, 2022 So I am 3 days post op and anxious about my diet. Instruction was 1 oz Fluid every 15 minutes. I am anxious that I may do too much or maybe too little. Sometimes 1oz does nothing then the next oz seems to make me fill too full. Am I overdoing? 1 GradyCat reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted January 3, 2022 No worries, it doesn't have to be that exact at 1 oz every 15 minutes. You're not going to bust a gust if you get 2 oz in 15 minutes and you're not going to dehydrate if you wait 18 minutes. Just keep sip, sip, sipping all day long. 2 catwoman7 and lizonaplane reacted to this
lizonaplane 1,613 Posted January 3, 2022 I did not get a specific instruction as to how much to drink in a certain time period - I was just told to try to get to 64 oz per day. I found it easier to do by keeping a bottle of Fluid in my hand or right next to me helped me keep it in mind, but some people like to set a timer. I did not like Water after surgery, so I use flavor packets and drink tea and coffee. You're doing fine!
ShoppGirl 5,003 Posted January 3, 2022 I wasn’t given a set time frame to drink either. Like lizonaplane I was just told small sips all day and aim for 64 ounces. It takes some people a little while to work up to that too. Just do your best and if you see signs of dehydration contact your team so you can get some fluids. Try different flavors and different temperatures of beverages too to see what is best for you. 1 lizonaplane reacted to this
