Angelina1210 49 Posted December 16, 2021 I just had the gastric sleeve done on December 10th and I lost 1.8 lbs. Is this normal? I don’t want to compare myself to others but I’m concerned. Is there anything I should be doing? I can only consume liquids and I struggle with that. When does the weight loss start? 😏 1 LadyH reacted to this
NovaLuna 710 Posted December 16, 2021 Some people hold onto the IV Fluid from their surgery for slightly longer. You may just be one of those people. I'd say give it another four or five days before stressing about it. Your weight loss should pick back up then. 3 Angelina1210, Sunnyway and Arabesque reacted to this
lizonaplane 1,613 Posted December 16, 2021 I think it could easily be Fluid retention and also, if you're constipated, that will affect it too. Keep up the drinking as much as possible. That's the best thing for you at this point. If you can't tolerate plain Water (it tastes bad to me now... so sad!) try water flavoring packets like Crystal Light, true lemon or true lime, herbal or Decaf tea, decaf coffee... broth? I'm sure you'll see better results soon! 2 Sunnyway and Angelina1210 reacted to this
Elidh 240 Posted December 16, 2021 Hi Angelina - congratulations on your surgery! Many bariatric veterans recommend not weighing for at least 3 weeks after surgery (due to the Fluid retention). I know it’s hard to refrain from weighing, but put it out of your mind for now. You’ll be satisfied in the long run! 2 Sunnyway and Angelina1210 reacted to this
