Sleevefailure101 5 Posted December 11, 2021 So I’m really disappointed I didn’t stick to my diet plan. I had the sleeve done last year in June and here it is December and I’ve only lost 40 pounds. I’m a complete failure. No one to blame but myself but recently my hair started falling out. It used to be super thick and long. Now it’s really thin and shorter. I thought Hair loss happened in the beginning, not this far out? Any advice would be great!! 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted December 11, 2021 you can still lose weight because you'll still have the restriction - the only issue is the hunger suppression may not be as strong at this point. Hair loss usually doesn't start right away - for a lot of people it starts around three months out, but it can be even later. Mine was months 5-9. I remember reading somewhere that if it doesn't start by about six months out, you're probably not going to experience it - but you're still in that range, so... 2 GreenTealael and Arabesque reacted to this
Elahnen 183 Posted December 11, 2021 You might not be getting enough Protein and Vitamins bc of your diet. If you can maybe talk to your primary care doc about blood work to check your levels incase they are low.How can we help you? Need support, the group to help motivate you, help hold you accountable? I have noticed there are so many caring ppl in the group that are very knowledgeable and willing to help! You can do this and don’t have to do it alone! Start from square 1…why did you do this in the first place and then want it so bad that your willing to do anything to achieve those goals! 2 Arabesque and GreenTealael reacted to this
ColieCallwell 129 Posted December 11, 2021 I'm only about 3.5 months out, but my nutritionist told me in order to avoid Hair loss, to focus on getting Protein through high quality protein supplements like Bariatric Advantage. She told me to aim for 8 scoops per day (gag) - I frickin hate the Protein Shakes, but if it will help with hair loss, I'll do it. So yea - meeting the protein and Vitamin requirements will help! 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Guest Posted December 11, 2021 11 hours ago, Sleevefailure101 said: I’m a complete failure. Nope, dear. You just had a learning experience. And 'complete failures' don't reach out for help, so I think we fact checked this statement and found it untrue ... . If you feel like it, go talk to your bariatric team. You may very well benefit from a surgery that gives you more hormonal help than a sleeve. First, however, maybe worth talking to a therapist that has experience (this is important) with eating issues. It's much easier to fix your body when your head is clearer. ShoppGirl 5,024 Posted December 11, 2021 I have heard people on here say they were slower losers and they kept losing weight up till the two year mark. You have not failed. You can still do this. 3 Sunnyway, GreenTealael and SleeverSk reacted to this

lizonaplane 1,613 Posted December 12, 2021 I agree with other posters. You have not failed. The only way to fail is to stop trying. Work on eating more Protein, drinking more Water, tracking your eating, meeting with a therapist, talking with your doctor about an appetite suppressant such as phentermine or metformin (I've been taking metformin since a month after surgery since I was one of the unlucky 20% that never lost my hunger), and keeping on these boards. You've got this! 2 Sunnyway and GreenTealael reacted to this
