Peonie 23 Posted December 5, 2021 Is there a set time for taking Vitamins? I'm really struggling to get them down in the morning but am fine in the evening, is this acceptable?
Sunnyway 345 Posted December 5, 2021 Just don't take your calcium citrate with your daily Vitamins. If you are prescribed 1500 mg Calcium citrate, it should be taken 500 mg at a time. I take m daily vitamins (Bariatric Pal One-a-Day) in the morning, and my Calcium citrate at lunch, mid-afternoon, and at supper. I have my vitamins & supplements in a basket on my vanity so I see them when I brush my teeth and get ready for the day, so morning works for me. However, I think you could reverse the order with no harm.

One thing that helped me initially was taking a Multivitamin without Iron, and at the same time taking a slow release iron pill. This occurred towards the end of my Breakfast. I now take the bulk of pills (such as allergy and others, with one 500 calcium) for the day at dinner since my pouch accepts them more freely. 1 Cynkentayjus1 reacted to this
Arabesque 7,432 Posted December 6, 2021 As long as you’re taking your daily dose it shouldn’t matter too much when you take it. I used to take one multi Vitamin in the morning & one in the evening to reduce the nausea taking them brought on. Just make sure to take them after you’ve eaten or with the last few sips of your shake, broth, etc.
blackcatsandbaddecisions 852 Posted December 9, 2021 I always take my Vitamins in the evening. Lord knows I don’t need one more thing to add to my morning routine. 1 Sunnyway reacted to this
Peonie 23 Posted December 12, 2021 Thanks for the replies on this, I am currently taking a chewable bariatric multivitamin that has the calcium citrate in it. It's a one stop shop until my tummy can deal with swallowing tablets. The downside is I have to take three of them daily and they're fairly hefty - but since I've been taking them in the evening thanks to the advice here, life has been much easier!
