I’m just a little bored on this soft food/purée phase. I’m making ricotta bake tonight. I did a puréed chicken salad with Greek yogurt and some other seasonings to eat on this week for lunch. Lots of other recipes I’ve tried but guess I’m just bored now. All suggestions welcome !

I had a lot of moist pureed chicken seasoned or cod with whatever sounded good. Plain chicken=add Better than Bullion. Mexican=add taco seasoning plus a bit of refried Beans. italian=garlic, oregano, Italian seasoning. Buffalo, ranch, everything bagel, Cajun are also options depending on your spice tolerance.

I got steamed chicken and vegetables from a Chinese restaurant. The steamed chicken is super tender. I didn’t eat the rice and only used a tiny amount of the sauce. I made 3 meals from the chicken and the vegetables will stretch even further. I mixed 2 oz of the chopped vegetables with my egg this morning. I wasn’t crazy about purées either, but it was better than liquids.

There are lots of recipes online for the pureed stage if you use google search. There are also many bariatric cookbooks available that cover all stages from home-made Protein Shakes, soft, pureed, and "normal" food. Here are some of the cookbooks I've accumulated.

I was obsessed with refried Beans. They tasted so good! I often added some shredded cheese and FF greek yogurt. I don't know if you're allowed this yet, but ground turkey and chicken were great, too. I added taco seasoning or other spices and ate them with ff greek yogurt.

Also mozzarella cheese sticks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
