Genepro - 3rd generation?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried the new GENEPRO, 3rd generation, sold in the orange canister?

I was disappointed the old one (sold in white bags) is gone, as it was the only unflavored Protein Powder I couldn’t taste nor smell. Others make me nauseous.

I read bad reviews of the new formula on Amazonso wanted to see if anyone here has experience with it. Thanks!

Edit: upon reading the fine print, the new version has a larger scoop and only a third of the Protein of the old version. Not just bad volume wise (yuck), but also nutritionally and pricewise. Looks like I will need to find the old version or use a different brand from now on.

Following. I just drug out what's left of my old bag of unflavored GENEPRO in hopes of upping my Protein to break my month long stall. I also went onto their website because I may need to purchase more and also noticed the new stuff. Curious if anyone has tried it.

GENEPRO lost a lawsuit over misleading labeling regarding the Protein content. It never had 30 grams of protein in 7 grams of product. The "new" Genepro is the same product without the falsification.

Looking on the packaging it shows.............

OLD ONE: One serving......serving size is one scoop (7.2 grams) contains 30 grams of Protein

NEW ONE: One serving.......serving size is one scoop (11 grams) contains 11 grams of protein.

Well that sucks!

I read something about that before I first purchased it. When I checked in with my nutritionist and surgeon, they okayed Genepro. Is this lawsuit more recent, in the last few months?

Trying to figure out how to proceed with Protein Powder. I tried a few others (unflavored) and they smelled and tasted like mold. Discarded them. (Edit: Includes Isopure Unflavored, and bipro Boldly Bare Unflavored).

Does anyone have an unflavored protein powder that smells and tastes like nothing, truly?

Just got around to trying the new GENEPRO gen 3. Not for me! I tried to hide it in my some sugar-free oatmeal and it clumped so bad I tossed it after just taking a few bites. Terrible!

Been using GENEPRO for years, you can't put it in either extreme cold or hot. For example, after I add some almond milk to my coffee, it mixes perfectly.

Any update on this since last years last post ? I was looking to get this to add to some of my pureed foods to get my Protein in. I suck at getting my liquid Proteins in. Id like to add this to my scrambled eggs and some others .

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
