TabEmb 1 Posted November 30, 2021 I had a gastric bypass the day before thanksgiving and there’s one area that is still hurting very bad to the point I can hardly stand up. I spoke with a nurse at my doctors office and she said that during the procedure my bowel had been knicked so they had to put in a “deep stitch”. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this
OldVol74 11 Posted December 1, 2021 It's the anchor stitch. It will hurt like heck for a few weeks and then it dissolves. Be careful bending and lifting until it subsides.
bufbills 316 Posted December 1, 2021 I tore some flesh deep overdoing it after my surgery. It was around three weeks out. I thought I was good to go. Wrong! It was brutal. I can remember the instant relief when it finally dissolved.
