Tysheena84 33 Posted November 27, 2021 Hey everyone. It’s the holidays and I have to admit I kind of lot my mind a little. I actually went home for then holidays and alot of my favorite foods the had. I don’t feel like I over indulged at one time. However, I do feel really guilty. I was doing so well. I have my surgery scheduled on Jan 18 and start pre-op diet Jan 4. I had people say enjoy myself, but I feel so bad. I don’t know if I gain alit of weight, but I feel like I’ve gained some. Is anyone else going through this? thanks. Ty.
learn2cook 588 Posted November 27, 2021 I expected to gain a pound or two. Just you what you need to do to get back on track; walk, drink Water, track your food. You will be right back on the loosing side in no time. Remember some of holiday foods have higher sodium contents and be patient with yourself while you flush that sodium out with water. Remember the good feeling of being with loved ones and keep moving forward to your goals. You can do this!
sassy pantz 13 Posted November 27, 2021 Lessons learned for me this first holiday with family on a road trip- don’t forget the Miralax!! Been gone 7 days on the road and by day 3 I was miserable! I’m not even kidding, I haven’t used it in months as I am 10 months post op but I sure needed it. Almost 3k miles driven, a lot of sitting and not as much Water as needed to avoid too many potty breaks, will definitely do the next road trip differently by drinking more water, walking around more and using Miralax. Also my tailbone cushion saved me too!
vikingbeast 987 Posted November 27, 2021 food shouldn't make you feel guilty. Have a celebratory meal. Eat the Thanksgiving dinner with the pie. But maybe only have one plate, not too. One piece of pie, not two plus sweets. Have one luxurious meal, not an entire day of blowing up your diet. And then the next day, go back to eating like you would the other days of the year. Don't take home leftovers. Don't volunteer to "take the pie to work". And then don't overindulge again until the next holiday (Hanukkah, Christmas, whatever you celebrate). 1 1 Jaye W and Spinoza reacted to this
