Jerald180 22 Posted November 22, 2021 3 days out from bypass and am painfully bloated most of the time. Even get pain of my upper left shoulder. What over the counter drugs are permissible to eliminate or reduce it?
NiceAnkles 147 Posted November 23, 2021 Most likely it’s from the gas used to inflate your torso during surgery. It sucks big time but will dissipate over time. GasX or other OTC stuff like that doesn’t really help as the gas isn’t in your stomach. The best thing is to walk, walk, walk as much as you can. I know it hurts like heck. I had that shoulder pain too. A heating pad helped it calm down a bit. Hang in there! 4 lizonaplane, Maisey, Sunnyway and 1 other reacted to this
Bill Potts 64 Posted November 23, 2021 (edited) Jerald 180, it's called shoulder tip pain. I had it too. It lasted about 5 or 6 days. It was worse pain than my belly. There is a lot of information about it on the internet. Edited November 23, 2021 by Bill Potts Misunderstood the question
Sleeve_Me_Alone 656 Posted November 23, 2021 Walking, heating pad, and staying upright as much as possible all help. It does get better! 1 lizonaplane reacted to this
lizonaplane 1,613 Posted November 23, 2021 I also found that the GasX did nothing, but the heating pad seemed to help (or maybe it just felt comforting?). It dissipated within a few days.
Tomo 1,194 Posted November 23, 2021 I really love Mylanta gas minis tabs in assorted fruit. Tastes good to me, they are super tiny and work very well.
Jue 73 Posted November 27, 2021 Like the other said walk and also try bringing up your wind when walking it worked for me
