OutdoorsGirl 93 Posted November 20, 2021 I was wondering if the VSG veterans who were in the purée stage for Thanksgiving have any food recommendations for the big day. Looks like I’ll be able to taste mashed potatoes and plain sweet potatoes. Would deviled egg filling be too rich? I hit purée stage this Tuesday and cannot wait! Any purée advice is appreciated. Congratulations to everyone! 1 cheryl o reacted to this
ShoppGirl 5,024 Posted November 20, 2021 I wasn’t at that stage on thanksgiving but I can suggest you try one new thing at a time so if it doesn’t agree you will know what it was that didn’t. Some others have mentioned the pumpkin pie filling. 1 OutdoorsGirl reacted to this
Arabesque 7,436 Posted November 21, 2021 Yes, it is trial & error as to what will sit well in your still healing & often fussy tummy. Try puréeing some turkey thigh (breast is too dry & coarse) with gravy or stock. Won’t look pretty but you’ll be eating turkey.

Congratulations to everyone! Yes, for Thanksgiving ill be on puree so, but learned you get full fast after 2 or 3 bites. Im gonna play it safe and have chicken broth with veggies. Last night i had popeyes mashed potatos, could only eat half of the small cup.
