I'm on the full liquid pre- op started officially this morning. Surgery on the 30th November. I was doing so good good today creamed Soup n all(no chunks). Took a nap woke up and grabbed Peanut Butter on a piece of bread I threw half of it in toilet because I feel like I've failed. Can I get through the next two weeks like this? Anyone else have mess ups and turned them around?

Mistakes happen, don't be so hard on yourself. Do better from here on out and try to put the temptations where you won't see them.

Definitely!! It’s a hard process but don’t buy into the all or nothing thought process. It’s a slip but if you move on it won’t make a difference to the overall process

It happens. And after your surgery, your stomach will tell you it's not time to fall off the wagon. Don't worry. You didn't fail. And the tool you're getting will help you with those cravings (as in not having them!)

Maybe try to get the tempting foods out of your house. I was test baking for the holidays and I made pumpkin muffins on Sunday night. I immediately called my sister up and asked her to come and pick some up so that I don't end up eating them all (the recipe made 16). Unfortunately, my sister couldn't come and get them until today (Tuesday) due to work and I ate far, far, far too many of them (2 on Sunday, 3 on Monday, and 2 on Tuesday) before she could come and get them. Keep in mind, each muffin is about 180 calories so I felt sooooo guilty! But... I weighed myself today and somehow after not losing anything since September 29th... I lost a pound. I don't even know what the heck is going on anymore 🙄

My answer to temptation is to not have stuff in the house (like not making muffins) or eating some Protein like Greek yogurt or string cheese. If the craving persists after that, I promise myself that I can have the craved item if I wait for half an hour. I've usually lost interest during that half hour.

The pre-op diet is really hard, especially for those who have a full liquid version! You're essentially putting your body through the start of the post-op phases, without the benefits that come from the surgery. If we were all able to stick to diets perfectly, none of us would be here. You made a mistake, you haven't failed. That said, do your best to stick to it the rest of the way, for your own safety and post-op success. Sometimes remembering that it's only temporary helps a lot.

I strugged with the pre-op liquid diet and I did break down and have a yogurt on day 4. Just get back on track and keep pushing. The pre-op is the hardest part for some of us.
